The Coach Jim Cappelletti Memorial Scholarship Fund

Coach Cappelletti spent 45 years in the CH-UH District as a teacher and head basketball coach, leading the Tigers to the State Final Four six times (1975, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2003), the finals twice (1975 and 1995), and winning the Division I State Championship in 1997 when he was named Ohio Coach of the Year.

Coach Cappelletti was undoubtedly a successful coach, but his passion went beyond the court to help his students and players reach their fullest potential. He had a winning attitude on the court and in life, always pushing his students and players to be the best version of themselves.. Coach Cap gave back every day – his time, energy, advice, and mentoring. Whatever young people needed, he was there, devoted to helping them. He showed students that each had a personal responsibility to the success of the team, the school and the community.

An annual award beginning in 2021 is given to a graduating senior scholar-athlete who exemplifies giving back to his or her team, school and community.
