Tommy’s Restaurant 50th Anniversary Celebration

11

On January 14th, Tommy’s restaurant on Coventry celebrated its 50th year in business. To commemorate the milestone, family, friends, and fans of Tommy’s have joined together to honor Tommy’s positive impact in the community and have established this fund that will support strategic efforts that will help Cleveland Heights-University Heights’ students thrive.

It’s hard to believe that Tommy Fello founded the beloved Tommy’s Restaurant 50 years ago. Fello had worked as a soda jerk at a Coventry drugstore as a teenager, and eventually purchased the shop from his former employer, Fawze Saide, who taught Tommy many of the Lebanese recipes on the restaurant’s menu. Tommy is a proud Heights High graduate of the Class of 1970 and was inducted into the Heights High Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 1990. He has been a Heights champion in every way, and this special Tommy’s Education & Enrichment Fund will amplify his values and legacy.
